Dr. Merrell is Emeritus Professor of Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. From 1999 to 2003, he was Stuart McGuire Professor and Chairman of VCU’s Department of Surgery.


Ronald S. Weinstein, M.D., is the Director of the Arizona Telemedicine Program, a program he co-founded with State Senator Robert “Bob” Burns in 1996. The Arizona Telemedicine Program is credited with creating one of the first membership-based sustainable state-wide broad band healthcare/education telehealth networks.



Dr. Rifat Latifi is a professor of surgery at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, and Adjunct Professor of Surgery, Weil Cornell University. From January 2011 to January 2014, he was based in Doha, Qatar, where he was the Director of Trauma of the Trauma Center at Hamad General Hospital.

Cafo Boga is a Senior Operations and Finance Executive with a stellar 20+ year career spanning multiple industries including banking, investments, information technology, business process outsourcing and real estate.



Dr. Ferid Murad, a founding board member of IVeH, attended DePauw University (1958), Western Reserve University (1965), and performed his internship and residency in medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital as and MD/PhD physician scientist.


Mr. Bajrami is President of Illyria Press and a graduate of Prishtina University.



Dr. Killcommons attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York and the New York Medical College, where he graduated cum laude from an accelerated BS/MD program.


Mr. Karakawa is a philanthropist who specializes in disaster response management.



Frederick Pearce is a professor of telecommunications at the University of South Florida. He is the former director of the USF School of Mass Communications. Previously, he was a professor of telecommunications and chair of the Department of Journalism and Public Communications at the University of Alaska Anchorage.


Ismet Lecaj was awarded a degree from the Medical Faculty, University of Prishtina. He is currently working on a Masters of Science in Health Systems Management from the University of London through distance learning.



Ms. Kathe Boucha is the Secretary of the IVeH Board of Directors. From March 2004 -June 2008, she was the first Executive Director of IVeH.


Shefqet Shala is a graduate of the University of Kosova with a major in finance. Shefqet has spent the majority of his working career in public health consultation.



Tom Rodda has spent the majority of his working career in higher education. His primary function involved developing, maintaining, and revising multi-million dollar budgets for university operations. This has entailed working with university administration, community college presidents, deans, directors, department heads and their staffs in the overall management of operation and capital budgets for their particular organizations.


Flamur Bekteshi is currently the Web Administrator and Technical Coordinator for the International Virtual e-Hospital Foundation. Flamur is responsible for designing and updating the Project’s official web page. He also designs, evaluates, and builds the computer networks according to the Telemedicine Program Development Strategy.
